I believe in it and I sobbed all the way thru the movie.  I dont believe they were religious they were hypocrytes and power orientated imo. They were a brutal people though in those days, I am glad I didnt live then I would not have coped with the culture of the time.

For those of you who have not seen this film,
if you decide to watch it all, be warned, it is very very powerfully
directed (by Mel Gibson), but really hits home, it is a very moving
and powerfully emotional film

What are your views? If this did happen all those years ago,
that man truly went through an horrific ordeal, and as for those
at the head of the religious group who bought him before to be
judged, they were not true religious people!
How could they have done this to one man?? I know it went on,
but i would have had no part in any of it.....................
